"Doodie"
Meyer
President, Global Garden Projects,
Inc.
Leadership Advisory Board Member
Co-Project Coordinator, Hope and Beyond
Projects
The Global Garden Project's
administrative
team acknowledges how fortunate the Hope
and Beyond Project (HBP) - India is to have Doodie Meyer onboard as the
Project's Co-Project Director. Ms. Meyer is renowned
for her successful pioneering work in the counseling of middle
and high school students from diverse and
low-income backgrounds in their struggle for higher education. She went
on to become President of the National Association
for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), further reflecting
her dedication to the under represented
student. In 1997, Ms. Meyer accepted the position of President of Global
Garden Projects, Inc. (GGP), where she continues
her efforts to provide real life substantive educational content.
In 2000, she joined Ron Frazier, Hope and Beyond
Projects, Founder and Global Garden Projects, Inc., Founder and
Executive Director, in the high school, grade and age
appropriate, Student Service-Learning Hope and Beyond Project
-India, which is specifically designed to promote
education to reduce the further spread of HIV/AIDS through self
awareness education and benefiting service.
Leadership
Note:
Doodie's work as an
admissions officer in the 1970's, allowed her to counsel low income/academically
talented students
that their dream was possible due to
the large financial sums that were available through governmental organizations
that provided for an equal opportunity
college education.
Her
experience while working as the Director of Admissions for Trinity University in
San Antonio, TX provided her
with great insight into the
need to support students from diverse backgrounds in their struggle for higher
education.
She organized a team of 60 admissions officers
to go to every low-income school in Texas, called "Target Middle
Schools", and a successful initiative which 25
years later is still in place.
Today she heads
the NACAC's chair for funding and the host committee for its national convention
in September 2001
in San Antonio, TX, where she will
provide exposure for the Hope and Beyond ABC's Project, for which she will be
the chief administrator for the student/school related
programming. NACAC is networked through the
educational
system.
There
is added value by bringing together the accumulative wisdom of 30 plus years of
the working relationship
between Doodie Meyer, President
of Global Garden Projects™, Inc. (GGP) and Ron Frazier, Executive
Director/Founder
of GGP. By working together, there will
be added value in intellectual property potential, the multi-talents of
the people available to their network alliance and the
effective events and projects management.
